So this leads me to believe that when the computer was brand new from HP, there WAS an icon for HP Quick Launch that did not have an arrow (and I somehow lost that icon and it got changed to a shortcut)? You also mentioned that I could try restoring to before the icon was changed. I understand you're trying to add the HP Quick Launch to the desktop of your notebook. You may have missed my follow-up questions in my initial reply to your post!
